Fresh Pasta
From the start of my marriage, I did most of the cooking, but in recent years we have learned that Pete is a really great cook himself! The best part is that he makes things that I would never even think of making because they either take too much time or are too hard.
For instance, he has made croissants, gnocchi, and baguettes from scratch. And they were all phenomenally delightful! Recently, he made homemade spaghetti noodles on a random evening and, in addition to being completely impressed, it reminded me just how good fresh pasta is.
When you compare it with dry pasta from a box there is just no contest. It is so tender, and the added bonus is that it only takes three minutes to cook!
A couple nights ago, I wanted to make fettuccine alfredo, and while I wasn't going to go to the lengths to make the noodles from scratch myself, I did buy the semi-fresh refrigerated version from the grocery store. They were just as good and they made this simple dinner feel like something delightful!
