A Big Tie Dyed Shirt

I realized the other day that summer hadn't truly begun for me because I had forgotten to do something crucial: wear my giant tie dyed shirt!

Four years ago, while on a family vacation to St. Simon's Island, Georgia, I found myself wanting a really big t-shirt. And in a local beach shop, I picked out the biggest and brightest tie dyed shirt they had. It was perfect. A good coverup for the beach or pool and just long enough that I could wear it around the house with no pants without making the people around me feel awkward!

Once I got home, the shirt quickly became a summer wardrobe staple for the same reasons I mentioned above. It works for a pool coverup, as well as something I can answer the door in without embarrassment when it is too hot to wear pants.

However, this year I had nearly made it to the end of June without wearing it! It was in the bottom of the bin where I keep my swimsuits, and I had almost forgotten all about it until I had a flash of insight that made me go digging for it. I wore it to the pool the very next day!

It's a little faded, but it still brings me a great deal of joy to wear this shirt. I recommend getting yourself a big tie dyed shirt to wear in the summer because it is delightful!
