Trees on Vacation

Whenever we go south to the beach, I fall in love with the unique oak trees that grow down there. They just seem so much cooler than the oak trees that grow here in Ohio with their twisting trunks and the mysterious Spanish moss hanging from their branches. I always wish I could bring one back to plant in my front yard.

We just returned from a vacation in California, and the whole time I found myself marveling over the trees there. They are so delightfully different from the trees I am used to seeing! I ended up with a whole album of tree photos that I took.

This tree stuck out to me because of its shape, but also these fun little pom poms that were growing on it!

While my photos don't really do it justice, the unique thing about this tree was that instead of leaves, it had big clumps of succulents hanging from it!

These trees filled with beautiful purple flowers lined the neighborhoods of Los Angeles.

And, then when we made it to Sequoia National Park, it was amazing to see those giant trees, some of which are over 3,000 years old! It's really something to behold.

The trees at home are beautiful, but there is just something delightful about noticing the trees when you head out of town.
